[Unknown] c. 1936
This manuscript relates to Gorky's Aviation: Evolution of Forms Under Aerodynamic Limitations (P141), his WPA/FAP-commissioned murals for the Administration Building at Newark Airport in New Jersey. See Gorky 1936 for additional information.
This uncredited manuscript, written by someone other than Gorky, was presumably prepared by the WPA/FAP for public relations purposes. Despite its unclear origins, the manuscript implies that the author spoke directly with Gorky about his ideas for Newark and on art more generally. It is located in the Dorothy C. Miller Papers, Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution, Washington, D.C. (Box 20, Folder 11).
The third and fourth paragraphs are identical to the two paragraphs of introduction in Gorky c. 1936c.
