Everett Ellin Gallery, Los Angeles, Arshile Gorky: Forty Drawings from the Period 1929 thru 1947, April 9–May 5, 1962. Exhibition catalogue.

On March 1, 1962, seven works en route to the exhibition were destroyed in a plane crash near Idlewild Airport (now John F. Kennedy International Airport) in New York. The shipment of paintings and drawings had been consigned by Allan Stone Gallery in New York. Correspondence between Everett Ellin and Allan Stone galleries lists four paintings from the 1930s and three drawings, one from 1932 and two from the mid-1940s, that were included in the shipment. Two likely lost works have been identified: P395 and P396.
